BEING DRESSED: Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2012

I always enjoy seeing the latest season's lookbooks from menswear's designers. Not that I am one to follow every trend, I do believe one must update their looks in their own wardrobe to stay on point and look sharp. Presented below is the Spring/Summer 2012 Tom Ford collection edited by yours truly.
This season Mr. Ford chose to return with full cut trousers, and yes, it looks like pleats could make a comeback.

I am thinking intiment post Oscar party in Hancock Park with this  sepia silk-linen dot cocktail jacket

Perhaps the way to do black tie in tropics or even in Capri with a shantung cocktail jacket in light steel blue

Ford chose to accent classic colors with white accessories for this season. Quite simple to do with your own wardrobe.
I have to say I've always liked the look of monochromatic dressing , perfect for evening events that are semi formal.

Wide lapels and white ties, signs of Tom Ford designs going against the current of "Mad Men" looks

Bold polka dot ties are a throwback look that hasn't been seen in while. The look seems cool because of the same color used through out the outfit.

Style: Elvis Presley

1957, on set Jailhouse Rock, Lansky Cable-knit  sweater
Today the world celebrates Elvis Presley, his gift of being one of the most authentic entertainers the world has seen is still indelible in this new century. I treasure the music he made, the performances he gave and the style that was his own. Below are some snapshots of true E.P. Style. Perhaps you can add a little Elvis to your look.

1964, on set of Roustabout. Perfect way to sport a motocross jacket.

circa 1960's, Hollywood publicity shot; and that's how you rock an ascot.
1956: Purchasing bold clothes from Lansky Brothers in Memphis, EP began using socks as accessories.

1960, Returning home from the Army. Elvis' style transitions from the rock and roll star to a more polished celebrity. His stay in Europe provides influence in his clothes. Note the black dress watch and pinkie ring.
1960 Press Conference. Elvis at age 25, He demonstrates a "cool elegance" with a black cocktail jacket and ascot.
1969, Las Vegas. Black suit, boots, red scarf-a legendary ensemble that is simple and truly Elvis.
1963, It Happened at the World's Fair. Legendary Hollywood tailor, Sy Devore created Presley's wardrobe for this picture, and I think these were some of the best clothes he ever wore.
1966, Spinout. The statement jacket-Elvis works the bright coral blazer with all black.
